It has been reported by David Ornstein, The Athletic, that Aston Villa are in the process of finalising a deal with Everton to sign midfielder Amadou Onana.
Has has reported that personal terms have been agreed on a long-term contract. The fee is believed to be in the region of £50 million.
It is believed that Unai Emery is a long term admirer of the midfield powerhouse and the player himself is thought to be excited at the prospect of playing for the Spaniard. The influence of playing Champions League football also a huge factor.
Onana was a standout player for Everton last season, dominating the midfield with his physical, aggressive presence. That form then carried on into the European Championships where Onana stood out in a fairly underwhelming Belgium team. Villa will see him as the perfect player to take the place of the injured Boubacar Kamara.
