Aston Villa goalkeeper Filip Marschall is set to join MK Dons on loan, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

The 20-year-old, who is an England youth international, has been given the green light to link up with the League Two side on a temporary deal until the end of the season to get some more experience under belt.

He will benefit from playing regular football in League Two under Mike Williamson as the Dons look to climb up the table.

Marschall has been on the books at Aston Villa since 2018 after they snapped him up from Cambridge City in non-league.

The Cambridge-born man, who stands at 6ft 5inc, has since risen up through the ranks at Villa Park and has represented the Midlands outfit at various youth levels over recent years.

He penned his first professional contract back in July 2021 and has since had two separate loan spells away at Gateshead to boost his development.

Marschall helped the Tynesiders gain promotion from the National League North before returning there for a second stint in the National League.

He has since returned to Aston Villa and has played seven times. However, another exit now beckons to MK Dons.
