Following weeks of speculation around his future, Jhon Duran appears to have agreed personal terms with a fellow Premier League club ahead of a move away from Villa Park.

According to Fabrizio Romano, John Duran has agreed personal terms with West Ham United ahead of a move that is though to be for a fee in the region of £35 million.

Duran has caused controversy in recent weeks with his social media activity, as the Colombian international has seemingly been pushing for a move to Chelsea. Negotiations did begin with Chelsea and a deal was understood to have been agreed between the two clubs but Chelsea pulled out due to the player's wage demands and potential attitude problem.

Villa fans have been very clear on social media that they would be happy to see the back of Duran as a result of his poor professionalism. The 20-year-old forward, who has started just three Premier League games for Villa since signing in January 2023, has burnt his bridges at Villa and is now close to his desired move away from Villa Park. Duran grew frustrated at the lack of opportunities coming his way to start games and this was largely due to Ollie Watkins's brilliant form throughout the 2023/24 season.

West Ham United have very few options in the forwards department with just two recognised strikers. Former Villa player Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are the only forwards at the club and the Hammers fans have been calling for the club to sign more forwards. Duran would therefore bolster their attack and is likely to be given more opportunities to play than at Villa.

Duran played 49 games in total for Villa, mainly off the bench, and scored 8 goals across all competitions.
