Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Middlesbrough attacker Morgan Rogers, according to a report by Sky Sports.
The club have been trying to agree a fee with the player's club for a while now and have seen two offers rejected already this winter.
Unai Emery's side have finally matched Boro's valuation though in a fee worth an initial £8million rising to £16million with add-ons. He is now heading to the Midlands for a medical.
Rogers, 21, only moved to the Riverside Stadium last summer from Manchester City for around £1million and has since impressed under Michael Carrick during the first-half of this season, scoring seven goals in all competitions.
He was on the books at West Brom as a youngster before moving to the Etihad Stadium. He never made a senior appearance for City but gained plenty of experience out on loan at Lincoln City, AFC Bournemouth and Blackpool in the Football League.
Aston Villa have been trying to sign Rogers for some time now this month and have until the deadline on Thursday to get the move sorted in time.
He will be a useful long-term option and will provide more competition and depth on the wing for the rest of this term.
Emery's men were in action last night but were beaten 3-1 at home by Newcastle United, with Ollie Watkins on the scoresheet. Next up is a trip to Bramall Lane to face relegation threatened Sheffield United as they look to bounce back with a win.
