Aston Villa eyeing swoop for Serie A ace along with Manchester United

Aston Villa are being linked with a summer swoop for Inter Milan right wing-back Denzel Dumfries along with fellow Premier League side Manchester United, as per a report by FC Inter News.

Unai Emery could see the Holland international, who has 50 caps for his country so far in his career, as ideal competition for Matty Cash going forward.

Dumfries signed for Inter Milan in 2021 and has since become a key player at the San Siro, making 116 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with nine goals.

He started out as a youngster at Sparta Rotterdam and played 72 times for their first-team before a brief permanent spell at Heerenveen.

The full-back then linked up with PSV and spent three years in Eindhoven, playing 124 games, before heading over to Italy.

Dumfries hasn't looked back since moving to Serie A and has helped Inter win win the Copa Italia twice. He also was part of their side who went all the way to the Champions League final last year but they were beaten by Manchester City in the final in Istanbul.

A move to England would be an interesting next step for him. Aston Villa would be able to offer him regular game time, whereas at Manchester United he could have more competition for a place at Old Trafford.

Emery's side are also aiming to be in the Champions League next term which would help them attract players in the summer to ensure would be fully prepared.
