Arsenal are 'pushing hard' to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, according to a report by Football Insider.
The Gunners have tried landing the Brazilian in the past and remain keen on luring him to the Emirates Stadium to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
Luiz, 25, has been a key player for Aston Villa since making the move to the Midlands in 2019 and has since made 181 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with 19 goals, seven of which have come this season.
He moved to England in 2017 when Manchester City snapped him up as a youngster from Vasco de Gama. However, he never played for the first-team at the Etihad Stadium.
The Brazil international, who has 11 caps under his belt for his country to date, was loaned out twice by City to Girona in La Liga to boost his development before he was given the green light to head out the exit door on a permanent basis to Villa Park.
He hasn't looked back since and is one of Unai Emery's most prized assets. However, he is still wanted by Arsenal and they could look to try and sign him again soon.
