Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is wanted back by Manchester City this summer, according to a report by Football Insider.
The Brazil international, who has 11 caps under his belt so far in his career, was on the books at the Etihad Stadium from 2017 to 2019 but didn't make an appearance for the current Premier League champions.
Luiz signed for City from Vasco de Gama as a youngster and was shipped out on loan to Girona in Spain for two years to get some experience.
Aston Villa then snapped him up on a permanent basis following their promotion from the Championship under former boss Dean Smith and he has since become one of their most prized assets, making 188 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with 22 goals.
Unai Emery has managed to keep hold of him over recent times amid links to teams like Arsenal and Liverpool. However, City are now the latest outfit to be linked with a swoop for him.
He scored twice for the Midlands outfit as they beat Nottingham Forest 4-2 last time out. Speaking after the game, he told the club website: “I scored two goals, I’m really happy.
“I was feeling this before the game, I said to my girlfriend ‘today, I score, 100 per cent’.
“And I come to the pitch and score twice.
"I’m really happy for the performance of the team.
“It’s a big result for us, it’s great.
“The team could control the game after scoring the four goals.
“And you need to keep going."
