It will certainly come as an annoyance for Aston Villa supporters. Needing to either take an otherwise unprompted nap in the early evening or attempting to push through the entirety of the day in order to watch the U.S.-based friendlies past midnight is not exactly ideal.

European clubs going to a different overseas market fills a different type of purpose for the club as a whole.

Looking to expand the fan base and increase relevancy in different areas of the world to help Villa financially and from an increased notoriety standpoint.

From a team standpoint, a training camp away from the regular comforts of Birmingham can help in a different way. Being on the road in places in which the only focus, more or less, is training and learning the new expectations of what Unai Emery is looking to see during the upcoming campaign is particularly useful.

Having the space and time to come together and work on the aspects that need to be refined in such an environment brings a different element to the sessions.

Of great use for Aston Villa

This is the time in which the Villans can benefit from being in camp and then experiencing the challenges of being in the Louisville and Nashville heat during the summer together. More to the point, there is a different type of bonding experience that occurs when a work-related trip takes place outside of the immediate area of one's home.

Trying to regain the legs and look sharp early has a different feel when having to do it across the ocean. While it may continue to not be what most Villa fans would necessarily sign up for, the U.S. trip and potential future excursions to other areas on the map will help this Villa squad. Fortunately, too, it won't be too long before the Villa squad is back in England.
