There are a lot of potential moving parts for Aston Villa during the upcoming transfer period. For some, the intrigue of adding outside options is intriguing. For others, it will be more important for the current talent to stay with the club. Either way, with Monchi taking charge in that department, it can be trusted that the best available option will be made that favors Villa.
Naturally, challenges present themselves. On the one hand, having multiple players capable of starting throughout the lineup makes sense. The same starting XI playing for all 90 minutes in every fixture isn't likely to happen after all.
This comes with a potential pushback, however. For obvious reasons, players want to always be on the pitch. To play at the Premier League level, at a minimum, one needs a healthy level of self-confidence. Even if someone may be saying the right things, if they are sitting on the bench, they would likely (and should) back themselves to see an increased run during matches.
Significant Aston Villa agreement being worked on
Oftentimes, this then means taking a greater role at a different club, even if it could be viewed as something of a potential step down. Midfield possesses something of a difficult situation for Monchi to navigate. According to reports, however, the Spaniard has his mind already made up on someone whose contract is set to expire. Although that isn't set to take place until the summer of 2027, The Telegraph publicized that Unai Emery desires for something to be worked out now for Boubacar Kamara.
More recently, Foot Mercato shared more details of Villa, believed to want the 25-year-old's future secured. Based on their sourcing, a 'historic contract' is being lined up behind the scenes. What that would exactly mean or how much is unknown at this point. If Kamara continues to have performances like he did against Preston North End, though, even an astronomical price could end up being seen as a bargain for Aston Villa.
