While most other media outlets pretend that PSR somehow only affects Aston Villa, it is a huge consideration point for all clubs. Barcelona in particular is a side that has to proceed with a certain degree of caution.

Even so, they are always going to be active during the summer, looking for ways to supplement their roster. The recent history and penalties, however, make it so that they can't pull a Manchester City, though, and simply outbid for everyone.

Consequently, the ongoing Nico Williams situation is giving a positive projection for Marcus Rashford being able to return to Villa.

The latest reports indicate that Williams had productive conversations with the La Liga side, and everything, at the moment, appears lined up for the move from Athletic Bilbao to Barcelona to take place for the attacker.

This would be a Hansi Flick squad that already has plenty of starting-caliber options in the advanced areas of the pitch, where the additional move for Rashford would not make sense financially for the club.

Adding Rashford for the 2025-2026 campaign and allowing him to join Villa for the entirety of the preseason would be a welcomed development among the supporters. The England international is someone who fit in well under the guidance of Unai Emery. Increased time and comfort in the system have the hopes of his being able to perform and play at an even higher level.

Further promising signs pointing toward Aston Villa agreement

Some may point out Rashford's wages and how adding a high cost to that troublesome bill would present issues. That type of concern is valid. Reports also indicate that in the event of clubs not looking to buy Rashford from Manchester United, his parent club would be open to another loan spell.

Considering how much he has looked improved in B6, it is somewhat safe to assume that United would be more than open to essentially extending the current agreement in place, particularly when considering how the club is not interested in seeing Rashford play under Ruben Amorim.
