Aston Villa are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they face strugglers Manchester United.

Villa were handed their first Champions League defeat of the season on Tuesday night when they lost to a red-hot Barcelona side, while United picked up a rare positive result, coming from two down to beat AS Roma. But the pressure on Michael Carrick is not going away amid just one win in the league.

Here we round up the injury latest surrounding both sides.

Manuel Ugarte - Out

Ugarte is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury during the summer.

Benjamin Sesko - Out

Sesko is going to be out until the new year with his shin injury. Carrick confirmed last week: "Yeah, unfortunately, Ben looks like he's going to be out for a period of time - we're still not clear on exactly how long, but it's going to be for a longer period of time. There's a bit of a healing process for the injury to see how it would react and what direction to go with that. So, even now we're still working through it."

Carlos Baleba - Out

Baleba picked up a hamstring injury during the week and will certainly miss this one. Carrick said after the game: "!I haven’t got any more news on Carlos at this stage, but it’s his hamstring. We’ll have to assess what that looks like, but initially, it doesn’t look great."

Luke Shaw - Out

Carrick has already confirmed that Shaw will be out until after the break. He said before the Roma game: "Luke definitely won't be around this week and fit at that point."

Lisandro Martinez - Out (Suspended)

Martinez was sent off for two yellow cards last time out and will serve his suspension here.

Marcus Rashford - Doubt

Carrick said during the week: "Marcus, we'll just have to see, day by day, how he keeps improving."

Patrick Dorgu - Doubt

Dorgu has returned to training and has a chance of being involved here. Carrick has said: "That was the first day with the group, and [it's] great to have him back. He's worked ever so hard to be back with the group, but he won’t be involved tomorrow. We’ll see how he progresses through the week..."

Amadou Onana - Out

Onana is a long-term absentee who will not be back this season barring a surprise.

Matteo Ruggeri - Out

Ruggeri is going to be out until early December with a hamstring issue.

Mastty Cash - Out (Suspended)

Cash has reached the five yellow card-limit and will not be available here as a result.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Doubt

Wan-Bissaka has a chance of returning from his hamstring issue.
