Emotional Douglas Luiz message on Aston Villa sheds further negative light on PSR

For everything that PSR and Financial Fair Play are attempting to (poorly) fix, Aston Villa fans were reminded of the consequences of the club's attempts to stay within the guidelines on Friday. Douglas Luiz left AVFC for Juventus. It was a significant move at the time, and one that would likely not have been made if it weren't for the now seemingly annual push to stay under a certain arbitrary line by selling players at the last moment.

The midfielder took to Twitch, and his message of "I miss Villa, guys; I miss to play in Villa Park," understandably gave a strong reaction of outpouring from AVFC supporters who remember the Brazilian being a playmaker at VP.

Caution to the wind, if the club were to chance any potential PSR fallback, most would be more than ok with re-adding Luiz as a Villan if it meant watching the Brazilian give it his all again for the claret and blue.

From Luiz's set-piece goals to some of the wonderful moments he produced from open play, the Brazilian's passion and love were never a question at Villa.

There may be an avenue for Luiz to be added down the line. Unfortunately for the club, as things stand now, the first order of business will be to either make the books line up or sell a player or potentially multiple players in order to avoid any potential repercussions.

Aston Villa needs to find a way to make it happen

Still, in a vacuum, when setting aside the operations side of the sport for a moment, Luiz's almost plea to come back was accepted and received something of a universal endorsement from all supporters of the club.

If the midfielder truly indicates that he is looking to leave his Serie A side, it wouldn't come as a surprise, and it would almost be a mandate for Monchi to at least look into bringing the Brazilian back to Villa Park.
