Aston Villa are back in action on Wednesday night, making the short trip to Coventry to take on the Sky Blues in the Carabao Cup third round. Unai Emery's men are off to a disastrous start this season, and it got no better over the weekend, losing to Nottingham Forest.

But things have not gone better for Coventry, who have had a tough introduction to life in the Premier League, most recently losing 5-0 at home to Brighton.

Wednesday night will be a battle between two out of form sides, and ahead of the all-Midlands affair, we have rounded up all the latest injury news.

Haji Wright - Out

Wright has a hamsting issue that will keep him out until November time.

Taiwo Awoniyi - Out (Suspended)

Awoniyi is suspended after receiving a red card.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden - Out

Kesler-Hayden will not be back until after the international break.

Josh Eccles - Out

Lampard confirmed recently that Eccles is going to be absent until after the break due to needing to catch up with fitness following an injury.

Luke Woolfenden - Out

Lampard said last week: "Hopefully, they’ll be back for around international break time to start training. Woolfenden the same."

Frank Onyeka - Doubt

Onyeka coulld be in contention after a hand injury but will go down as a doubt for now.

Amadou Onana - Out

Onana is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury.

Leon Goretzka - Out

Goretzka suffered a setback after joining on a free transfer. He said himself after the injury: "Unfortunately, my body has reacted to the increased workload after my time away from the pitch. It’s frustrating, but I need this short break now to come back at full strength. I’ll use the coming days, including the international break, to recover fully."

Matty Cash - Doubt

Cash has been struggling with an overload and could return here.

Bian Madjo - Doubt

Madja is expected back from his ankle injury, but he will remain a doubt for now.

Joao Gomes - Out (Suspended)

Gomes remains suspended after his red card for violent conduct.

Ian Maatsen - Out

Maatsen looks to be out for some time after his ankle injury. Emery said: "But the information I have, an ankle injury, it may be a long, long time."

Pau Torres - Out

Torres has suffered a hamstring strain and will be out here.
