Aston Villa canceled a training session on Sunday due to a Covid-19 outbreak at the club’s training ground, Bodymoor Heath.

It was initially reported that a number of training ground staff and only one member of the first-team had tested positive, but on Monday it was revealed that a second first-team member had also received a positive test.

The squad returned to training on Monday and tomorrow’s match against Norwich City at Carrow Road has not been postponed.

As per Ashley Preece, Aston Villa reporter for BriminghamLive, “[Axel] Tuanzebe, [Ollie] Watkins, [Emi] Buendia, [Keinan] Davis [were] spotted in training earlier so they’re OK.”

Last week Tottenham Hotspur had a Covid-19 outbreak with eight member of  their squad testing positive. Spurs have since had Premier League and Europa Conference League matches postponed.

Villa were not the only top-flight side hit with a Covid-19 outbreak on Sunday. Manchester United canceled training after positive cases were returned and are now in talks with the Premier League to postpone their Tuesday clash at Brentford.
