With first-choice striker Wesley set to miss the remainder of the season, Aston Villa are said to be in the market for a replacement and with many names being thrown around, the latest name is one that might get the Villa faithful excited.

Claret Villans understands that Villa have been in contact with the agent of AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek to discuss a possible move to B6 for the Polish international.

Its thought that with Milan re-signing their former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Italian club could be willing to let the 24-year-old leave the San Siro with Villa being a possible destination.

However, despite holding talks with Piatek’s agent Fabryka Futbolu, the two clubs are yet to discuss what a possible deal would look like.

More from Claret Villans

With that said, it’s to the understanding of Claret Villans that Milan are looking for €30m for a permanent deal but would also be open to loan the player out until the end of the season with an obligation to buy on a permanent basis in the summer.

As it stands, a deal between Villa and Milan is far from ’off the ground’ as the two teams are yet to make contact but Villa are very much interested in signing the Polish striker.

Time will only tell if there is a possibility that Piatek could join the club but should he do so then it’s safe to say, Villa would have a hell of a player on their hands.

Over the previous two seasons in Serie A, the 24-year-old has scored 26 goals in 55 appearances for both his former club Genoa and Milan, who he joined in last year’s January transfer window.

Piatek has also been in top form for his country scoring five goals in 10 appearances.
