Aston Villa Football Club suffered a second-consecutive defeat, this time at the hands of Bournemouth.

Two individual errors cost Villa a result as the claret and blues were left chasing a 2-0 deficit after twelve minutes. Tom Heaton conceded a penalty inside a minute, while Douglas Luiz allowed a ball through his legs into the Cherries’ attacking path.

5.5. I guess Heaton earns a 5.5? He conceded a penalty to the Cherries inside sixty seconds with an extremely dumb and unnecessary challenge. On the other hand, he made two excellent 1 v. 1 stops that kept the scoreline within reach.<p class=. GK. Aston Villa. TOM HEATON

5.5. We know full well what Ahmed Elmohamady brings to the table after three seasons. He had a decent/okay match, but it’s Fred Guilbert time. Interestingly enough, WhoScored recorded Elmo with five key passes. The Egyptian was unlucky not to earn an assist when Jack headed over from point-blank range.. RB. Aston Villa. AHMED ELMOHAMADY

BJORN ENGELS. 7.0. Great match from the Belgian; Engels has been Villa’s best signing through two matches.. RCB. Aston Villa

LCB. Aston Villa. TYRONE MINGS. 6.5. Very good match from Tyrone Mings. I don’t have much more than that, honestly. Nearly assisted on an equalizer at the death

LB. Aston Villa. NEIL TAYLOR. 6.0. Villa’s most surprising inclusion to the starting XI did pretty well for a second consecutive weekend.

Aston Villa. DOUGLAS LUIZ. 6.0. Impossible to grade after a horror show of a first-half and crackling goal in the second. Douglas Luiz: exciting prospect, okay performance. In all, a very good learning experience.. CDM

Aston Villa. JOHN MCGINN. 7.0. Maybe not quite as good of a performance as some made it out to be, but John McGinn shined once again. Almost scored on three occasions. Needs to be better in possession at this level, however.. CM

7.0. Arguably better than McGinn on the day, but the two clear-cut chances missed, hurt.. CM. Aston Villa. JACK GREALISH

RW. Aston Villa. TREZEGUET . 6.0. 87% passing accuracy and a would-have-been goal if not for a block by a Bournemouth centre-back. Still, Trez is missing that killer incisiveness in the final third.

WESLEY MORAES. 5.0. Needs to be better. Was very poor with his movement off the ball. Should be better in the air, too.. CF. Aston Villa

ANWAR EL-GHAZI. 5.0. Similar to his game against Tottenham: I thought El-Ghazi had a solid first-half before tailing off after the break. Was taken off for Jota around the 75th-minute.. LW. Aston Villa
