7. Manchester United, Tier 3

The additions of Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and a rebound season from David de Gea will transform the defense under OGS. The midfield, however, remains a mess. Selling Romelu Lukaku for £60+ million is tremendous business, but it leaves the Red Devils a bit light up front. United’s ceiling is about 3rd and their floor is 10th.

8. Everton, Tier 4

Everton is a popular pick to finish in the top-six, and rightfully so. I thought the deals for Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Moise Kean were great.

9. Wolves, Tier 4

Very little separates Wolves from Everton in my eyes. Everton are slightly more talented on paper, but Nuno Espírito Santo gets more out of his system. They should be fun to watch in the Europa League this season.

Did you know they signed another Jorge Mendes client?

10. West Ham United, Tier 5

West Ham’s front line should be fun to watch when you factor in record signing Sébastain Haller, Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson. I’ve seen some consider them as possible top-six finishers, but I don’t think they’re quite there yet.

11. Aston Villa, Tier 5

Ah, here we are.

Ambitious? Maybe. But this Aston Villa squad is talented. None of the nine teams ranked below should scare Dean Smith and his claret and blue army.

12. Watford, Tier 5

A Deadline Day deal for Ismaïla Sarr is exactly what the doctor ordered. Watford did enough this summer in keeping their own players to stay out of the drop zone.

13. Southampton, Tier 5

I like what Ralph Hasenhüttl brings to Southampton. The Saints are pretty much solid and unspectacular in every area of the pitch after Che Adams’ arrival from Birmingham City.

14. Bournemouth, Tier 5

As long as injuries don’t derail Bournemouth’s season (they have, so far, in the early goings), Eddie Howe’s side should finish somewhere in the bottom-half. Brooks, Wilson, and Fraser are an exciting trio, but they have to count on Callum Wilson’s goals once again.

In some ways, Bournemouth have a high ceiling and a low floor.
