Aston Villa played to a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. In completely unsurprising fashion, the claret and blues under-performed again.

Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn reinforces the fact that the club is vastly under-performing with Steve Bruce at the helm. On a day in which Derby County lost, Middlesbrough lost, and Leeds United were held to a draw, Villa were held to a singular point of there own.

Against a mid-table side that Villa should have taken advantage of, no less. The first-half was a snooze fest outside the opening seven minutes or so. As is all too common this season, Villa were unable to attack for more than 60 seconds or so at a time.

Blackburn gained control at the 10-minute mark and didn’t look back. They came close to scoring on several occurrences as John McGinn, Albert Adomah, Jack Grealish, and Mile Jedinak committed unnecessary foul after unnecessarily foul.

Rovers opened the scoring via Bradley Dack, assisted by Danny Graham. Aston Villa and Steve Bruce were subsequently saved by Conor Hourihane’s free-kick deep, deep into extra time. Another middling display.
