Aston Villa: Abraham would be an incredible piece of transfer business
By Josh Tonti
Silly season continues as Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce looks to bolster his injured and beleaguered strike force. Chelsea 20-year old Tammy Abraham would be an incredible addition to the squad.
BirminghamLive reports Aston Villa want to take Chelsea FC striker Tammy Abraham on loan for the 2018/2019 EFL Championship season.
Abraham, 20, suffered what was considered a ‘down’ season last year with Swansea City as the Welsh club joined illustrious Villa in England’s second division. Though Abraham enjoyed extended development time in the Premier League (39 total matches), his scoring record dropped significantly (8 goals, 5 in the league play) compared to his previous loan spell with Bristol City.
It was with the Robins where Abraham made a name for himself as a teenager.

The 2016/2017 Championship season saw Abraham net 23 goals, tied for second in the league alongside Dwight Gayle and Glenn Murray, trailing Chris Wood’s 27. The accolades led to two England caps as well with the Three Lions in 2017 friendlies.
This summer, Abraham aided England to victory in the prestigious youth Toulon Tournament, scoring two goals.
For Aston Villa, Abraham would be an incredible coup and automatic starter in most scenarios. A player of this caliber doesn’t usually come to the loan market. Which, of course, makes sense why the player would be holding out for a move within the Premier League. Swansea were a disaster last term, which alludes to some of Abraham’s struggles.
At 6’3″, he’s a powerful, prolific forward capable of scoring in bunches.
Villa Verdict
Get Abraham on loan through any means necessary. The reality is, however, a Premier League club will likely snatch him up to serve second-fiddle. But, the situation is worth monitoring.
