Aston Villa host Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon and will be looking to make it an impressive six straight wins.

Burton could have both Lloyd Dyer and former Villa striker Darren Bent back after injury problems. Bent, Aston Villa’s record signing, made his debut for Burton on Tuesday but was taken off after 60 minutes due to an injury scare. Burton have lost their last three matches and are currently bottom in the Championship.

As for Aston Villa, deadline day signing Lewis Grabban could make the bench. The on-loan striker scored 12 goals in 18 games for Sunderland, but it’s expected that Scott Hogan will keep his place after his recent run of form.

Axel Tuanzebe will also likely feature on the bench and was an unused substitute on Tuesday. There doesn’t seem to be any fresh injury worries with only Chris Samba and Jonathan Kodjia out.

Confidence should be high after our fifth successive win and we’re really mounting a challenge for the top two especially if this form continues. Snodgrass’s late winner against Sheffield United left us one point off second and should inspire the team going into the game against Burton. It’s a game we need to win and should win, especially after closing the gap on the automatic spots.

Predicted Villa XI

Johnstone, Elmohamady, Terry, Chester, Hutton, Hourihane, Bjarnason, Grealish, Snodgrass, Adomah, Hogan.

SUBS: Bunn, Taylor, Tuanzebe, Jedinak, Onomah, Grabban, Davis

Score: Villa 4-0 (Snodgrass, Terry, Hogan and Grealish)

Aston Villa beat Burton 4-0 at the Pirelli Stadium earlier in the season and I expect a similar result this time around. Hogan challenged Bruce to bring in another striker.

Now we’ve bought in Grabban, Hogan has to keep his form going to keep him out.
Burton have also been in free-fall recently and have only won six games all season.

Nigel Clough is yet to turn his team’s form around. He succeeded in keeping them up last season, but it doesn’t look likely so far. Maybe the signing of a natural goalscorer in Darren Bent could change their chances but hopefully it’s not against us!
