Andre Green, possibly John Terry to return for Aston Villa vs. Peterborough
By Josh Tonti
After two matches in 48-hours, Aston Villa get a small break in the Championship’s hectic schedule. Villa host League One side Peterborough United on Saturday in FA Cup third-round action. Steve Bruce confirmed Andre Green will play, possibly John Terry too.
André Green was on a tear to begin the year before a serious groin injury on September 13th derailed his season. On Wednesday, Villa boss Steve Bruce confirmed Green, 19, will start against Peterborough United on Saturday.
After the better part of five months on the sidelines and in rehab, it is awesome to see Green make his return to the Aston Villa first-team. Albert Adomah’s scintillating emergence on the left wing has more than adequately covered the club thus far.
Still, another option, especially one as explosive and talented as Green, gives Villa another late-match option to bring from the bench. Pace isn’t in abundance at Aston Villa and another player to stretch defenses in the wide areas aids in winning vital points.

Green isn’t the only injury victim nearing a return, either. John Terry recently came back to full-time training.
In December, Steve Bruce indicated Terry could make an appearance against Peterborough United. It remains to be seen whether that is the case, as the 37-year old might be utilized the week following, away to Nottingham Forest in the league.
If so, another central defender alongside Tommy Elphick will need to be found. James Chester should not be risked this early in the cup stage with everything still to play for. Likewise, Christopher Samba is unavailable through injury.
19-year old Easah Suliman, celebrating his birthday later this month, could star in central defense.
In fact, it could be an all-teenager attack on Saturday. A front four of: Green, O’Hare, and Hepburn-Murphy, playing behind target-man Keinan Davis makes for an interesting story.
The Villans are coming off consecutive victories, the injury front is improving, and, all of a sudden, everything looks good again at B6. The Championship is a wild ride. Ten days ago it looked like Armageddon after defeat to Brentford.
