RB – James Bree (Loan)

For being a Steve Bruce signing, it remains quite surprising James Bree has featured so little for Aston Villa. His five appearances across all competitions is not enough for the 20-year old to develop.

Currently, he’s the fourth-choice fullback on both the left and the right. Veterans Ahmed Elmohamady, Alan Hutton, and Ritchie De Laet have done little to lose the manager’s confidence. Their steady play relegates Bree to the Under-23 side.

There should be no shortage of Championship and League One sides looking to take Bree on a January loan. He’s talented, likely available, and quite possibly still the future at fullback for Aston Villa. He’s just not the present.

Bree would make a acquisition for a club struggling to stay afloat in the EFL Championship.
