Until his injury, Ross McCormack was having a successful season in Australia’s A-League. In ten appearance for Melbourne City, he had netted seven times. The game against Sydney FC, on December 15th, brought a three-game goalscoring streak to an end.

There was a slight controversy when he arrived late for training and appeared to be dropped from the squad. However, it was explained that an Achilles injury was the reason. It is not known whether he will need surgery and a return date, at the time of writing, is unknown.
