Aston Villa players depart for international duty

Several Aston Villa youngsters received call-ups to their respective youth national teams. Likewise, World Cup Qualifying could feature some Villans across the globe.
Mile Jedinak was left off Ange Postecoglu’s Australia squad for crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Japan and Thailand. The Socceroos sit on 16 points alongside Saudi Arabia. Japan currently leads the group with 17 points; the top two finishers qualify automatically to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, 3rd-place will fend off a pair of home-and-home match-ups to make it.
Jedinak staying in the U.K. for a full week and a half should bring him back to full fitness.
In related news, a trio of Aston Villa youngsters received a call-up to England U-20s.
For Keinan Davis, it is his involvement ever with the England youth sides. Easah Suliman and Andre Green are regulars within the England set-up.
Not to be outdone by his teammates, Josh Onomah also received a call-up, but to the U-21 side instead.
They face the Netherlands in Holland before hosting Latvia in a pair of qualifiers. In a squad of loaded talent (Abraham, Solanke, Davies, Alexander-Arnold, Chilwell, Lookman, Loftus-Cheek, etc.), Onomah’s call-up is a fresh reminder oh how high ceiling can be.
New Aston Villa signing Robert Snodgrass was called into Scotland duty. Scotland faces Group F’s bottom-dwellers in Lithuania and Malta. With eight points from six matches, a pair of convincing wins could catapult Scotland back into second-place conversation.
Slovakia currently resides in second with 12 points.
Moreover, Ahmed Elmohamady was called into action for Egypt. On Thursday, August 31, Egypt faces Tunisia in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Jonathan Kodjia is still recovering from an ankle break. Therefore, he was not called into the Ivory Coast National Team. Hopefully, for Aston Villa, he will be nearing a match fitness by the time the team reconvenes.
