Aston Villa need some help in the attacking department and may have a short term solution with a loan for Robert Snodgrass reportedly in the works
According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa are in competition with fellow Championship sides Birmingham City and Sunderland for the services of Robert Snodgrass but the Villans have the current edge.
The winger has found himself on the outs at West Ham just seven months after making a £10.2 million move in January. Snodgrass was in the midst of a sensational, albeit doomed, campaign with Hull City when he made the move to the London club.
He scored nine goals in 24 appearances for Hull, an excellent return for a winger, but failed to find the back of the net in 15 with the Hammers.

Sky Sports reported last week that Snodgrass was “surplus to requirements” at West Ham and the Hammers could look for a loan with an option to buy move for him before the end of the transfer window.
Aside from being an experienced campaigner in both the Championship and Premier League, Snodgrass is familiar with Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce and was key to the Tigers’ promotion campaign in 2015-16.
The pair worked together for two successful years at Hull and they will be hoping to recapture that same magic if the move does indeed go through.
As we have covered ad nauseam at Claret Villans, Aston Villa have plenty of questions in the attacking third and despite some good play from youngsters like Andre Green and new boy Scott Hogan, depth and experience are still concerns.

The Championship season is a grind and to finish in the top six a club must have that combination in bunches. Snodgrass is a proven player at the highest level and is still young enough to be considered in his prime.
If he is indeed available then Aston Villa would be foolish to pass up the chance to sign him either on loan or on a permanent deal. Besides, we already know he looks good in Claret and Blue!
