The Mirror ran a report stating that Aston Villa starlet André Green is being tracked by a pair of Premier League clubs. As the transfer window draws nearer to a close, more rumors begin to circulate in England.

From The Mirror, both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are tracking André Green. Moreover, the same line states Spurs, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are keeping tabs on him as well.

All this interest is very well-founded. Green turned 19 only months ago and is already a near-lock in Steve Bruce’s preferred starting eleven. After starting the season in fine fashion, Green found his first Aston Villa goal on Saturday – in a victory over Norwich City.

This could be the year Green puts it all together as a devastating weapon in England’s second division. Ex-Villa manager Rémi Garde handed him his first professional appearance as a 17-year old back in The Claret and Blue’s relegation campaign. Green spent much of last season on the fringes of the first team, but still racked up a ton of appearances for a teenager.

For Bournemouth, the need to grow organically remains a priority for Premier League survival-ship. Young talent needs brought up to supplement other transfers. The Cherries do not possess the largest checkbooks in the world, but they did splash the cash on a trio of valuable assets. Jermain Defoe arrived on high wages, while Asmir Begovic and Nathan Aké cost a combined £30 million.

For Crystal Palace, The Mirror claims replacing Yannick Bolasie is still on the agenda. Bolasie moved to Everton last summer.

Verdict:

André Green’s contract runs out in the summer of 2019. He’s not going anywhere….yet. A fresh deal should be a priority for Dr. Tony Xia and Keith Wyness, however. Green has proven he’s a starter in the second division already, with a ceiling for much, much more.

The report is as vague as it gets. Therefore, it’s likely clubs doing their due diligence on any young player excelling in England.
