Club owner Dr. Tony Xia confirmed on Twitter that Aston Villa is not interested in Wolves’ central defender, Danny Batth.

Danny Batth is not in Aston Villa’s transfer plans. At least, not right now, and not according to club principal owner Dr. Tony Xia.

The Birmingham Mail confirmed Xia’s oddly-worded tweet is a “no” for Aston Villa.

Batth’s future at the Molineux is uncertain after a new manager, formation switch, and several personnel changes on and off the pitch. Wolverhampton brought in three new center backs to compete with the long-stading Batth – whose known almost nothing but Wolves since his Academy days began back in 2000.

Xia’s tweet is shown below:

One could think this means “this is no rumor” if not for the perfectly placed period in between no and rumor.

Batth has been a reliable Wolves defender during his five-year span in the first team. Since the club’s relegation from the Premier League in 2012, Batth amassed 177 senior appearances, scoring eleven times.

He struggled last season, making 26 Championship appearances. But otherwise, Batth is only a year removed from being one of the best center backs in the whole division. At 26, he is currently in the prime of his physical condition.

Sky Sports ran an interesting story here, that describes the charitable nature of Danny Batth.

He’s half-Indian as his father hails from Punjab and moved to the U.K. at age 12. As such, Batth is eligible to represent India internationally. Unfortunately, India has an asinine National Team policy that any players of Indian descent must live in the country a full two years before a call-up.

A quick look at India’s most recent squads confirms this. Every player plays domestically in India. As such, on the global stage, India struggles in FIFA sanctioned events.

This was supposed to be a piece on Tony Xia confirming zero interest in a Wolves player. But instead you got Danny Batth’s entire background. Enjoy!
