22-year old center midfielder Aaron Tshibola leaves for Milton Keynes Dons of League One. Tish departs Aston Villa in search of additional playing time.

Aaron Tshibola left Aston Villa on a temporary basis this season. Villa announced Tish is leaving for MK Dons on a season-long loan move.

Tshibola was a £5 million addition last summer from Reading. Then-manager Roberto Di Matteo liked Tish’s ceiling despite the few number of professional matches under his belt. This move, hopefully, propels Tshibola forward into a future Aston Villa role.

Though, with loans like these, one never knows what the future holds. Tshibola has just 54 professional appearances in his career, over half of which came with Hartlepool United three years ago – at the League Two level.

Tshibola admitted to the Birmingham Mail playing time is the main factor in the move:

"“I’m delighted,” Tshibola told iFollow MK Dons.“I the met the manager – he was totally ambitious and sold the club to me. The club matches my ambitions and I feel like this is the perfect place for me to be right now.“I want to get back playing and enjoying my football. I feel like, at this time in my career, playing games is the most important thing for me. Hopefully I can do that and help the team strive for some success this season.”"

Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak enter the final years of their respective deals next year. If Villa fail to get promoted this year, who knows, perhaps both depart the club for younger options.

Tish played fairly well in very limited appearances for Villa. He was a regular under Di Matteo before his sacking. Then came Steve Bruce and subsequent deals for Henri Lansbury and Conor Hourihane. After that, Tshibola didn’t feature and moved to Nottingham Forest on loan in January. Unfortunately, he didn’t appear once alongside fellow Villan, Ross McCormack.

Verdict:

League One is a good level for Tshibola right now. He’s talented enough for the Championship, but finding a club to play him every week is a bit risky.

With The Dons, Tshibola enters a club with good history, who hopefully enter a title challenge. All the best, Tish!
