18-year old Hull City left back Josh Tymon is out of contract this summer. Despite making 12 appearances with the first team, and call-ups to England youth teams, Tymon has yet to sign a professional deal at the KCOM Stadium.

Steve Bruce turns his attention towards newly-relegated Hull City for left back reinforcement. Jordan Amavi may not be around past the summer window. Therefore, competition for incumbent Neil Taylor is one piece of business that needs addressed.

Josh Tymon recently turned 18 in May, but has 14 professional appearances with Hull City across all competitions, 12 of which were this season. In a 2-0 FA Cup fixture victory over Swansea, Tymon scored his first goal for the Tigers in stoppage time.

In addition to his play at Hull, Tymon became a regular with the England under-17s and 18s in 2016. Tymon was in the starting eleven on June 10, 2017 as England bested the Ivory Coast on penalties in the annual Toulon Tournament.

Interestingly enough, Tymon started on the left of defense in a 3-4-3, showcasing some positional versatility. Google has him listed as 5’10”.

As stated above, Tymon is available this summer following Hull’s relegation to the Championship. He’s cited as never signing a professional contract with the club – making just £160 per week.

A host of Premier League clubs are linked with a move as well for the player. Liverpool are considering him, as well as Stoke City. The Potters are considered the front-runners with Stoke manager Mark Hughes destined to bring him in.

How does Tymon fit Aston Villa? Well, pretty well all things considered. Given his first team and international experience, he should give Neil Taylor a little competition at the left back spot.

Any move for the youngster would require only a small fee to Hull given he’s out of contract (despite never signing a professional deal?). Steve Bruce doesn’t have oodles of funds to navigate the window; therefore, bringing in a promising player for the future on a near-free deal is recommended.
