Reports from L’equipe indicate Atlético Madrid approached Aston Villa about the availability of left back Jordan Amavi. All indications from Steve Bruce seem to favor moving on from the Frenchman.

How will Aston Villa’s lineup look to start next year?

It’s a serious question at the moment as the claret and blues will likely be without two top past performers. Jordan Amavi should be moved sometime in the summer to raise funds for a player of Steve Bruce’s ilk.

A host of Ligue 1 clubs are said to be interested as well as Napoli and Atlético Madrid. Diego Simeone look to replace Theo Hernandez, while Napoli face losing incumbent left back Faouzi Ghoulam.

Moreover, Jonathan Kodjia is out for several months with a broken ankle. The ensuing surgery means the Ivory Coast forward could miss up to two months in the fall. Let’s figure out how Steve Bruce might line-up week 1 in the Championship.
