Aston Villa: Time To Hop On Andre Green Hype Train
By Josh Tonti
Often overshadowed by other Aston Villa youth talents, it is time to hop on the André Green hype train. The 18-year old is the best prospect in the current Villa player pool.
When one answers the question of: best Aston Villa young player, the most often response includes one of Jack Grealish, Easah Suliman, or Rushian Hepburn-Murphy. However, the correct answer is none of the above.
André Green is Aston Villa’s best young player right now.
Though injured, Green is making fantastic progress at the tender age of eighteen (he does not turn nineteen until the end of July).

Before the quadriceps injury against Bristol City, Green put up consecutive starts on the left flank in Aston Villa shutout victories.
In total, Green has thirteen league appearances, including four starts. No Villa player in recent memory made that sort of contribution at the age of eighteen.
Even Jack Grealish was nineteen before he truly broke out into the first team. Hepburn-Murphy? Only two months younger than Green with far less appearances – even though RHM debuted at sixteen.
André Green’s mixture of pace and dribbling ability make the winger a menace against static defenders. There was a feeling around Bodymoor Heath that Green was truly breaking out before the quad injury.
Now, however, with over a month off to recover and the international break, Green is prepared. Manager Steve Bruce may elect to utilize his young wing prodigy in an important match-up against Norwich City.
Injuries and suspensions are plaguing the Villa squad. With Bacuna, Bjarnason, Agbonlahor, and RHM among those out, expect to see Green somewhere in the eighteen.
The data regarding Green’s production remains mixed. Do not make the mistake; Green is incredibly polished for such an inexperienced age.
The difference between zero goals and two goals to his name was a bit of woodwork and a poor spell of luck.
