3. Alan Hutton, RB, 33
Steve Bruce recently extended Alan Hutton’s stay by one year via an option in the Scotland international’s contract. After a solid run of matches, Bruce rewarded the veteran noting the player’s tremendous attitude in training and around the club.
Just because the player is extending his stay does not mean his spot at right fullback is secured. Hutton faces increased competition returning for next season. A modest return could mean De Laet comes back somewhere in the second month of the season.
