Aston Villa place their three match winning streak on the line. Villa engage 3rd-place Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium.

The claret and blue play their fourth match in eleven days – this time against stiff competition. A win against David Wagner’s men and Villa could make things interesting at the top of the table. The club is currently sixteen points off of a top-six spot.

Huddersfield Town, on the other hand, remain six points off the top two and an automatic promotion to the Premier League.

More from Claret Villans

Villa manager Steve Bruce is missing a lot of names from which to choose from. Leandro Bacuna continues his six match suspension while a host of names limped off injured in recent games.

Birkir Bjarnason is facing weeks on the sideline with a knee strain. His replacement, Jack Grealish, suffered a bad cut and will face approximately two weeks on the treatment table.

Villa’s other left-sided attacker, André Green, is still out another month with a left hamstring strain. That is all three left-sided attackers out injured at the same time.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Gabby Agbonlahor, and Scott Hogan are all still out, though the latter is close to making a return. Additionally, Gary Gardner is not too far off as well.

PROJECTED ASTON VILLA XI (4-3-3): Johnstone; Hutton, Chester (c), Baker, Taylor; Jedinak, Lansbury, Hourihane; Adomah, Kodjia, Amavi.

Substitutes: Bunn, Elphick, Richards, Bree, Hale, Sellars, Davis.

Holy hell. Three U-23 players must be called upon following this injury crisis. Both Rory Hale and Jerell Sellars could make their first team debuts somewhere in the upcoming weeks.

After three consecutive clean sheets the back line remains the same. Aston Villa have not lost a single match all season when James Chester, Nathan Baker, and Mile Jedinak all feature.
