Steve Bruce and Aston Villa attempt to make it two home victories in four days. This time, Bristol City roll through to Villa Park. Lee Johnson’s squad lay just two points above the drop zone.

Bristol travel to Villa Park carrying several key injuries to their squad. Star Chelsea on-loan striker Tammy Abraham will miss the match with a thigh strain. Moreover, defender Mark Little and forward Milan Djuric will most likely be unavailable as well.

For the claret and blue, Leandro Bacuna misses out – serving the first match of his red card suspension. Manager Steve Bruce is hopeful midfielder Conor Hourihane is available after not playing in the defeat of Derby County.

Bruce is weighing up Mile Jedinak’s availability. The Australia international only recently returned from a groin strain and should not be rushed into two matches in four days.

PROJECTED ASTON VILLA XI (4-3-3): Johnstone; Bree, Chester, Baker, Taylor; Jedinak, Lansbury, Hourihane; Adomah, Kodjia, Green.

Substitutes: Bunn, Elphick, Hutton, Amavi, Gardner, Grealish, Bjarnason.

Villa again rely on Jonathan Kodjia for the goal scoring burden. Scott Hogan, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, and Gabby Agbonlahor are all out through injury.

Right back should be the position to watch out for. Alan Hutton had himself quite a nice game against Derby, but could see himself replaced by James Bree. The 19-year old is now a few more days removed from injury.

Birkir Bjarnason, Jack Grealish, and André Green seemingly fight one attacking spot.
