The third installment of this series uncovers the plethora of options Aston Villa have available at center back. Part I covered goalkeepers, while Part II covered the left back situation.

At the core of any title winning team belongs the heart of a defense. For Aston Villa that heart is the center back pairing that will ultimately become crucial in their bid for immediate promotion back to the English Premier League. With as many as six first team central defenders, spots in the first team will be fierce and competitive.

Aston Villa have both the quality and quantity at center back to help fight their way back up; with that, let’s look at the center back depth chart.
