Attempting to reacclimate for the new season can be a difficult challenge for Aston Villa, as it would be for any side. Morgan Rogers stepped foot on the pitch for the first time and was able to provide a goal against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The England international looked lively in the attack and expects to have another big role for Villa this season. It is not exactly known where he will end up playing for the 2025-2026 campaign. Although many Villa supporters will hope that it is in a more central area. That may not always be possible, however, even if it is the best fit for him. In either event, he has proven himself more than capable on the outside and is talented enough to learn more of whichever role Unai Emery ends up asking of him.

Perspective of Aston Villa player

While speaking with Villa TV, Rogers spoke on what it has been like being back in the thick of things. He pointed out how there are some newer signings, young players eager to prove themselves. Rogers also noted how a lot of the squad has returned fully, after many of last year's players came back a little later due to international duty.

Things will still be a work in development. In truth, there will always be something that can be worked on and improved. It is this connectivity, though, that will ultimately be able to yield fruit a little sooner and ideally at a higher rate than some of the other teams that are more of a new look compared to Villa.

So far it may have been a slow start to the preseason for Villa. Listening to Rogers, by the sound of it, the club is only now starting to truly get back into their routine, preparing to be fully ready for the upcoming season.
