Jonathan Kodjia, I mean, Aston Villa defeated Norwich City by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Here are our player grades.

Steve Bruce’s men have revitalized their season in a span of mere weeks. Seven matches, six wins, six clean sheets following Villa’s 2-0 dumping over the Canaries.

There is a quick turnaround, however, as Villa host another home match again on Tuesday – this time London’s Queen Park Rangers visit Birmingham.

Our player grades below, as Jonathan Kodjia took two chances perfectly beyond Michael McGovern.

We were all wrong on Sam Johnstone. The 24-year old is thriving under a new look defense at Aston Villa. Johnstone even collected an assist(!) on Kodjia’s second goal.

Alan Hutton won three aerial challenges as he retained his spot over James Bree.

Quiet, resolute, and generally solid throughout. Writing James Chester’s post match grade is even easier than Ashley Westwood’s old ones.

Baker won four aerial challenges, and forced a fine save from Norwich keeper, Michael McGovern.

Coming off a horrendous international moment, Neil Taylor recovered well in another clean sheet for the claret and blue.

Adapted well playing as the deep man in a new four-man midfield. Jedinak’s passing was a bit wayward, however. The Australia captain recorded a 48.3% success rate.

A typical Lansbury game: solid percentage of touches, two key passes, and a booking. Job well done.

Played very, very high on the pitch. Adomah attempted two shots and completed two key passes on Saturday.

Conor Hourihane played an interesting position against Norwich – often tucking inward just under Henri Lansbury. The new Ireland international had one header carom off the cross bar.

Hogan is beginning to find himself once more after recovering from an ankle injury. The 24-year old assisted on Kodjia’s cutting strike in the first half.

Jimmy Danger does it again! Another two goals from Jonathan Kodjia – who is having an otherworldly season for both club and country. Kodjia should become the first 20 league goalscorer for Villa in a long, long time.
